At Aroma we pride ourselves on great quality food and beverages, wonderful service, and exceptional value in a warm, inviting atmosphere.
We proudly support local Gippsland producers such as Gippsland Jersey Milk, Forge Creek Free Range Eggs, Seasalt Bakery (sourdough) , Forge Creek lamb, Flooding Creek Funghi (mushrooms), Lightfoot & Sons Wines, Tambo Wines, Meristem Micro herbs, Tambo Valley Honey and Bulmer’s Farms.
Aroma @ Eastwood opened on 14th January 2019 and from day one, we knew they had something the local Eastwood community had been waiting for. We designed the space as somewhere we would want to spend time. With that in mind, the Aroma brand was created.
Not long after Eastwood was launched, Ben & Deb were presented with an opportunity to replicate Aroma in Metung. After some lengthy delays and setbacks, Aroma @ Metung opened its doors on 6th July 2020. It was a challenging start due to the Coronavirus pandemic, lockdowns and trade restrictions were enforced but the project had been in motion for well over 12 months.
Aroma employs over 50 staff and has developed a great reputation in the local community. The Eastwood venue has since been extended and renovated to double its capacity due to the demand.
Owners Ben & Deborah West have been in the hospitality industry for more than 20 years respectively. They have worked in many different venues from pubs and clubs through to restaurants and cafes holding all manner of positions from the dish pit to management. With this experience, they know what it takes to run a great café/restaurant.
Ben and Deb have been married for over 20 years and together have raised 6 children. After the sale of their first café in Melbourne’s South-eastern suburbs, the West family moved to East Gippsland in early 2011.
They are actively involved in the local community supporting important charities such as Dolly’s Dream, Royal Children’s Hospital and have been volunteers in several organisations including Lakota Dreams Charity and the East Gippsland United Football Club. Aroma currently sponsor many different sporting clubs and organisations giving back to the community where possible.
